When not fronting The Verve Pipe, Brian Vander Ark is putting out solo albums, but with his latest – Planet Sunday Sessions Vol 2 – the singer-songwriter has amassed a collection of covers that were just as much about feeling good as they were about releasing a good record. From Cyndi Lauper’s “Time After Time” to Peter Gabriel’s “In Your Eyes,” each selection is a comfort song for the soul, and in a year when everyone has been looking for just that, the Michigan native is delivering smiles in the best way he knows how – through music. That’s why we recently down with Vander Ark for a brand new seven question session.

The Damn Truth

Spreading love through rock ‘n’ roll is its own instrument and one that can connect with people in a way that any electric guitar or snare drum cannot. It’s even more powerful when it’s filtered through The Damn Truth, the 60s-inspired quartet whose latest album, Now Or Nowhere, makes us want to go everywhere with the band – now or in the future. Their latest single, “This Is Who We Are Now,” was always meant to lead the charge with this record, which officially drops May 7 via Spectra Musique/SONY Music. We sat down with vocalist/guitarist Lee-la Baum and bass/vocalist PY Letellier to get the full scoop in a brand new seven question session.

Cristina Vane

CristinaVaneFeatured

Cristina Vane moved around a lot growing up, and while that exposed her to many different cultures and points of view, it also kept her from having a permanent place to hang her hat every night. Becoming a touring musician did little to tether her to a single location, though that proved creatively fruitful because the road is where she wrote much of her most recent album, Nowhere Sounds Lovely, which is available now. We recently sat down with Vane to discuss her music and planting roots during the pandemic in a brand new seven question session.

As Javier, Miami-born Henri Esteve is a part of that magical mix, though he has his sights set on so much more in the industry, which we were happy to break down with him in our latest seven question session.

While luck can pay off, hard work is a more reliable source of continued success. Take for example Patrick Sabongui, who in the last year alone has starred in Firefly Lane, Shameless, and The Flash, a series that he has been active with since Season 1, playing Chief David Singh. But working on camera is not the only hustling the Montreal-born actor is doing day-to-day. Actively developing projects of his own, Sabongui has established a production company, Life Force Films, and has some exciting things in the works, which he shared with us in our latest seven question session.
