Cristina Vane

CristinaVaneFeatured

Cristina Vane moved around a lot growing up, and while that exposed her to many different cultures and points of view, it also kept her from having a permanent place to hang her hat every night. Becoming a touring musician did little to tether her to a single location, though that proved creatively fruitful because the road is where she wrote much of her most recent album, Nowhere Sounds Lovely, which is available now. We recently sat down with Vane to discuss her music and planting roots during the pandemic in a brand new seven question session.

As Javier, Miami-born Henri Esteve is a part of that magical mix, though he has his sights set on so much more in the industry, which we were happy to break down with him in our latest seven question session.

With their new album Waiting to Get Paid now available via Light Organ Records, Alex Little and the Suspicious Minds have blended the upbeat swagger of 80s pop with the brutal honesty of adult living, crafting a record that you can enjoy on both the surface level and somewhere deep beneath. While luck can pay off, hard work is a more reliable source of continued success. Take for example Patrick Sabongui, who in the last year alone has starred in Firefly Lane, Shameless, and The Flash, a series that he has been active with since Season 1, playing Chief David Singh. But working on camera is not the only hustling the Montreal-born actor is doing day-to-day. Actively developing projects of his own, Sabongui has established a production company, Life Force Films, and has some exciting things in the works, which he shared with us in our latest seven question session.

Nick Leng

NickLengFeatured

With his latest single “One More Time,” singer-songwriter Nick Leng has pivoted from what was to what is. He admits that there was a time in the not-so-distant past when he was working on tracks that other people felt suited him better than he himself did, so he responded in the only way that he could… by starting to write music that he was passionate about again. Now, with a new album on the horizon, he is not only excited about that collection of songs to come, but a future filled with the countless songs scratching to get out of his head, which is why we sat down with him for a brand new seven question session.

Landlady

While Adam Schatz hopes that the next Landlady album doesn’t take quite as long to manifest, he is also happy to take his time with inspiration, recording snippets of songs on his phone for later use, should they be deemed worthy of creative continuation. That’s how some of the songs off of their latest self-titled record found their way to the finish line, and it’s this patient approach that has blessed these tracks with a gestation period of perfectly polished development. With his brand new podcast Landladyland just announced, we sat down with Schatz for a seven question session.

If you think you’ve been patiently impatient waiting for Marvel’s Black Widow, imagine what it has been like for actress Jade Ma, who plays an as-yet-revealed character in the on-hold tentpole. Thankfully, she has had other projects to keep her busy during the long pause, including the popular Netflix series Zero Chill, where she was able to tap into her childhood ice skating skills to, as they say, pay the bills. With the family drama currently captivating families on the streaming service, we sat down with Ma for our latest seven question session.

Jenn Grinels

Singer-songwriter Jenn Grinels has not always considered herself to be a prolific writer, but quarantine kept her from the place she had grown so comfortable with – the road. Forced to rethink her creative output, Grinels traded in performances for creative collaborations, and in the process, a plethora of new songs were born, including those found on the Go Mine album, released in November 2020. Now with Jenn Grinels Live: Volume I, the newly-prolific songwriter is returning to her comfort zone, giving fans a taste of her stage show at a time when it is calling out to so many, and we sat down with her for our latest seven question session to talk about how it all came together.
